The RF 35mm F1.4L VCM lens is the first product integrated with VCM motor, combined with Nano USM. The VCM controls the larger lens group, while Nano USM manages the floating lens group. These two motors can operate simultaneously or independently, optimizing focusing motion and significantly reducing focus breathing during video recording.
Currently, Canon has developed four lenses equipped with VCM motors, including: RF 20mm f/1.4L VCM, RF 24mm f/1.4L VCM, RF 35mm f/1.4L VCM, and RF 50mm f/1.4L VCM. For filmmakers, having a range from ultra-wide to standard focal lengths, all with the same aperture and advanced focus technology, is a major advantage.
