Shooting Yourself under Optimal Settings (Self Portrait) (EOS M10)

    For self-portraits, customizable image processing includes skin smoothing as well as brightness and background adjustment to make yourself stand out.
    Procedures for shooting in [Self Portrait] mode are explained below.

    1. Set the mode switch to [ ], and then press the power button to turn the camera on.



    2. Open the monitor as shown in the figure below.



    3. Touch [ ].


    NOTE
    • [ ] is not displayed when the mode switch is set to [ ] and in the [ ] mode.

    4. On the screen, touch the icon of the setting to configure.



    • To configure menu items for which options are not shown, first touch the menu item to access the setting screen.
    • Choose the desired option.
    • To return to the previous screen, touch [ ].

    Setting details are shown in the table below.

    Choose from [AUTO ] or one of five levels of background defocusing.
    Choose from five levels of brightness.
    Choose from three levels of skin smoothing. Skin smoothing is optimized for the main subject’s face.

    NOTE
    • In [ ] flash mode, [ ] is set to [AUTO ] and cannot be changed.
    • In [ ] mode, the time left before shooting is shown on the top of the screen when you activate the self-timer by selecting [ ], or by selecting [ ] and setting the time to 3 seconds or more.

    5. Shoot.
    NOTE
    • To return to the original mode after touching [ ] to enter the [ ] mode, close the screen and make the angle to approximately 180 degrees or less.
    • Other things than skin may be corrected depending on the shooting conditions.
    • Try taking some test shots first to make sure you obtain the desired results.
